Deputy Principal

Dear Sacred Heart Community,

Welcome back to Term 3! I hope you had an enjoyable break from the school routine, that the family stayed well, and you’re ready for another busy term.

We have had a great start to term 3 with many engaging learning experiences in the classroom, and insightful learning conversations with our parents and guardians during our parent teacher interviews and PSGs. We thank you for your time in meeting with the staff and look forward to working with you to ensure your child reaches their full potential.

TERM 3 Inquiry Units - Story

Yesterday our classroom teachers worked with our educational consultant, Deb Vietri on our term 3 Inquiry unit of work “Story.”

From the student’s pre-assessments, we were able to map out the direction of the unit and plan some engaging experiences to help the students unpack the concept of story, migration, perspective, cause and effect, impact, change and continuity, and time.

Parents and Grandparents are an invaluable resource for this unit of work, so if you have  artifacts, photos, or stories that you would like to share, please email your child’s classroom teacher or myself and we can organise this.

The big questions the students will be investigating are below:

Prep/ Yr 1-

How has our story changed over time?

Yr 2 & Yr 3/ 4

What was it like to live in the past?

Yr 4/ 5 & Yr 5/6

How are communities impacted by migration?

Enjoy your week!
