The King's College Celebrates World Wellbeing Week

As part of World Wellbeing Week, meaningful activities have been organised for the students and staff to be involved.

Jeans for Genes

The King's College participated in "Jeans for Genes Day", run by the Children's Medical Research Institute, to raise funds and awareness for genetic research that helps combat childhood genetic diseases and cancer. Students wore jeans to school to support a cause!

"Bake It Blue" is also part of this fund-raising initiative. The staff enjoyed delicious home-baked blue cupcakes by one of our staff, Mrs Amanda de Winnaar. This initiative supports 12 kids born every minute with a genetic disease or congenital disability.

The Secondary school raised $264.00, the Primary raised $107.00, and the staff raised $80.00. What a great way to be contributing to the community. Giving to others is one way we can all take to improve our mental wellbeing. So let's continue to give in different ways to bring hope to others!

In addition, the staff Wellbeing Team provided ample opportunities for staff to be encouraged, valued and uplifted with a week of special treats, including doughnuts, cupcakes, BLISS Balls, massages, boost juices and gifts. In addition, Adam from Road To Resilience shared a great message about resilience at our morning staff devotions, and our College Choir led the staff in worship.
