Kids Corner

The “Kids’ Corner” section of our school newsletter provides the opportunity for the children to showcase their talents or communicate something special. This fortnight I have taken the opportunity to share some of our Year 1’s writing.

The Haunted House by Amaya (Year 1)

One gloomy day a boy called Rick and his dog Ben were trick or treating on Halloween when they came near a haunted house. Suddenly a gust of wind pushed their bag of lollies into the most scary looking haunted house.
“Oh no! said Rick

The Rick came up with the worst idea ever. He and his dog were just going to go through the house and get their lollies back. So Rick and his dog went up to the haunted house and knocked on the door. It creaked open as slow as a snail. Then they went inside and climbed the stairs, suddenly bats flew straight past them – “aghh!!!” they screamed!

Rick’s heart was pounding so loud it was like there was a giant in his body.

As soon as they went upstairs, Rick walked into a cobweb and a big hairy beast went on his back, it was a TARANTULA!

It creeped across Rock’s head and scrambled onto the floor and then Rick found his treats! The Rick and his dog ran out of the haunted house!!

What they grow at CERES? The people that work at CERES grow vegetables and fruit. They also grow crops so that the bees can come and pollinate and that means they are about the planet. The fruits are organic, that means they don’t spray chemicals in your body and doesn’t make you sick.

They also keep you healthy, you have to eats these fruits and vegetables, so you don’t get sick.
