Book Week 2022

We will be celebrating the Children’s Book Council of Australia Book Week in Week 4 this Term (15th – 19th August). The theme for this year is ‘Dreaming with eyes open…’. We have a fantastic week of activities and competitions planned. The CBCA website is a great resource if you would like to find out more about the fantastic books that have been selected for prizes www.cbca.org.au

Book Swap

On Thursday 18th August, as part of our Book Week celebrations, the library will host a Book Swap. The Book Swap is a great opportunity for students to exchange a book they no longer need from home for something new.  To participate in the Book Swap students need to bring along a book from home to swap. Students can bring their book for swapping to the Library and they will be given a ticket (on the Thursday of Book Week) that allows them into the Book Swap. Only students with a ticket will be allowed to get a ‘new’ book at the Book Swap. Students are welcome to start bringing in their books to swap.

Dress Up Day

To coincide with Book Week, we will be holding a dress up day based on book characters on Friday 19th August (Week 4). This is a much-anticipated event at St Paul and it is always great to see the vast array of costumes on the day. Students will get an opportunity to parade their costumes during the Book Week assembly. For students who would like to dress up and participate in the day, they will need to bring the book on which their dress up is based. Students can also come dressed in the Book Week theme ‘Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds’.

Please note: This is not a casual day, if students do not wish to dress up they will need to wear normal school uniform.
