Bees’ Divine Work

As part of our Devotions this term we are looking at God’s animals. Last week we looked at the honeybee. The beehive reflects our classroom – we are all working together, helping each other so our classroom can thrive. We all have different roles and help each other achieve personal and whole classroom goals. Mrs Ashmead and I see ourselves as the ‘Queen Bees’ of Jeffery/Ashmead – making sure there is cohesion, support and opportunities for success.

  • The very work that bees do – pollinating the land and helping the plants and crops grow – has been compared to holy work.
  • “The bee is the wisest and cleverest of all animals and the closest to man in intelligence; its works are truly divine and of the greatest use to mankind.”
  • The bee’s work is pure, “the bee collects honey from flowers in such a way as to do the least damage or destruction to them, and he leaves them whole, undamaged and fresh, just as he found them.”
