The Early Years

Play-Based Learning

Play is a primary medium for children's learning and as such, educators plan how they will structure, use and support play experiences (Schools Council and Standards Authority, 2013). Children’s play allows them to explore, identify, negotiate, take risks and create meaning.

At Salvado Catholic College we believe that children are creative and independent thinkers, problem solvers and communicators who learn and grow through play and so we provide students with an environment that encourages and enhances playful learning opportunities to stimulate independence, collaboration and problem solving. In the Early Years Learning Spaces teachers develop teaching & learning programs that foster children’s natural curiosity and are unpinned by their knowledge of children and child development.
