College Matters

Information Night 

Our annual information night which assists families transitioning from year 6 to year 7 will be Monday 2 May at 7pm in the gym. It is not an open night with all spaces accessible however many students will be involved in the presentations.   

We encourage families with another daughter joining us in 2023 to attend the Information Night and also book a College Tour. Additional tours will run early in term 2 before year 7 2023 applications are due on Friday 13 May.

Enhancement Program

There have been some changes to the application process for our Enhancement Program at year 7. Applications will open after students have been accepted to MGSC. Once students are informed of their acceptance to MGSC (late July) they will be invited to apply for Enhancement which includes an Edutest.  Families familiar with the program will know that in previous years the applications process commenced in May. There is more information on our website. 

Uniform

In April and May either full summer or winter uniform can now be worn. All students must wear winter uniform from the 1st June.

Scarfs can only be worn with the Winter uniform and PE uniform.  If it's cold enough for a scarf, then the warmer winter uniform is needed too. Scarves will be confiscated if worn with the summer uniform.

Please note scarves cannot be worn to PE classes due to the OH&S risk they pose. 

PFA year 7 parents meet and greet

Thank you to the Parents and Friends' Association for hosting the year 7 parents at informal drinks on Thursday 31 March. The JLC - also the place where their daughters spend much of their time - was an ideal venue for this opportunity to visit the campus and meet the parents of their daughters' classmates. 

Oval maintenance

With the changing seasons MGSC is investing in the oval, treating weeds, fertilizing and overseeding the kikuyu with rye grass to improve the surface during the winter months. MGSC partners with Peter from Reseed for our oval works.

These works are for the benefit the students and for sprots clubs that hire the oval. Enquiries about hiring any of MGSC's facilities can be directed to Leigh Roberts, Facilities Manager at mentone.girls.sc@education.vic.gov.au
