Physical Education & Sport

Develop a love for movement

Welcome back to another fun filled term in Physical education. Students will explore various new topics, learn new skills and have brand new areas to play in.

Before the holidays Chris was working hard building and installing new football and soccer goals up on the oval. The students have loved these new areas over the first weeks of this term. The AFL goals fit in nicely with the P-2 curriculum as they explore the skills of AFL, focusing on the drop punt.

During this term, a representative of the AFL will be running lunchtime football classes in addition to a free AFL afterschool program. Running on Wednesdays 3:20 - 4:20. This is a great opportunity for students to develop a love for sport, create healthy habits and learn new skills.

Within sport, our grade 5/6 students have been training in preparation for the winter Gala Day on the 20th of May. The football, netball and soccer teams will play schools from the surrounding district. Students love these days as they create new friends from other schools and play organised sport. We wish our teams all the best as they compete for the school.

This term, we also have our district cross country, with a handful of students taking on the 3km course at Brimbank park on the 6th of May. Hopefully we have good conditions on the day and our runners do well!
