Lights, Camera ... ROXY!

The lunch time music club has been up and running since Term 1 and will continue in Term 2. Every Tuesday we get a bunch of enthusiastic students joining us in the Performing Arts room at lunch time to try out some different instruments and have a go at playing and even writing some music together. All are welcome to come along and participate!

This term, Preps will focus on beat and rhythm, learning to find and keep the beat through playing body percussion, classroom instruments, and performing body movements in structured and improvised locomotor sequences. 

Grade 1 & 2 students will be focusing on celebrations and special days around the world, and learning about how different people and cultures celebrate. They will learn about how the elements of music and dance help us to express and convey different emotions. 

In Grades 3 & 4 we have started with the topic of 'Our Community', exploring the music and arts that we hear and see around us in our own families and the local community. 

Grade 5 & 6 students will continue with their exploration of different eras of music and dance, focusing on the second half of the 20th century and the famous art and artists that have emerged from that time.
