Sport

This week in sport we had a number of different events happening around the School. We held our Cross Country Carnival, for both the Senior and Junior Schools, in addition to which some  of our students achieved very impressive results in sport in external sporting events.

We also held our Basketball Presentation Night on Wednesday night, which went well.

The Cross Country Carnival was full of colour and fun and a great time was had by all. There were excellent performances by some very talented runners, and well as many fun costumes and excellent House spirit. The Rotary Club was on site providing a BBQ and this was enjoyed and appreciated by staff and students alike. Organised by Pitt House, the profits from this BBQ will be donated to their fundraising drive for Compassion Australia.

Results of Age Champions and the winning House will be announced at this Wednesday's Sports Assembly.

Last weekend we also had a number of students who competed at the State Little Athletics titles. Standouts included Keeden Harrison (Year 7) who won Bronze in the 3000m, Amelie Hugo (Year 10) who won a bronze in the U15 Girls' 400m and Will Zakis (Year 11, picture far right) who also won Bronze in the Boys' U17 800m.

Winter Sport Organisation

Our winter sports teams have commenced trials and these will continue over the coming week. Once teams have been finalised, the team lists will be posted on the Sports Noticeboard.

Please note, for any information regarding these teams, the first port of call is the MIC of the relevant, as outlined below:

Boys' Rugby:  Mr. T. Grace: tgrace@bmgs.nsw.edu.au

Boys' Football:  Ms. A. Stammer: astammer@bmgs.nsw.edu.au

Girls' Hockey:  Mrs. R. Hyslop: rhyslop@bmgs.nsw.edu.au

Girls' Netball:  Ms. B. Stockley: bstockley@bmgs.nsw.edu.au

Girls' Football:  Ms. S. Naumann: snaumann@bmgs.nsw.edu.au

Uniforms

It would be very helpful if all students who are playing a winter sport could check if they still have a uniform for their sport and if it still fits. If anyone needs a new uniform, please speak to your relevant MIC, and order any required uniforms asap, as the turnaround time from order to delivery has been significantly affected by the disruption of the regular global supply chains.

Please keep in mind that the Uniform Shop is only open on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Rugby

Tuesday's Muster session went well and we are having another session next week at the same time. As teams are finalised Mr. Grace will inform everyone involved.

Inter-House Sports Day

On the last day of term, House Sport returns to BMGS!  Which House will win the day, and who will win the mystery Novelty Events section?

As always if there are any queries regarding sport, please email jquilter@bmgs.nsw.edu.au.
