Junction 142's Delivering Dignity Drive

Over the past few weeks, students at both the Junior and Senior campuses brought in toiletries as part of the Pitt House International Women’s Day Hampers initiative. This initiative was to donate toiletries for the Junction142 Delivering Dignity Drive. Together, the staff and students donated more than 20 bags of toiletries.

Last Wednesday, special guest Mr John Cox, the Chairman of Junction 142, joined us at Assembly to receive these hampers and talk about the importance they will have to women in our community. Mr Cox and his team at Junction 142 will distribute the toiletries to women experiencing homelessness through Junction 142’s shower and laundry program.

A big thank you to our Head of House Mr O’Keeffe, who did an amazing job organising this initiative, and to everyone who brought in donations. As a school, we are very grateful to have been able to help lots of women within the Mountains community and bring them a sense of comfort and happiness.

If you would like to keep helping those in our community, Junction 142 provides many opportunities for students to get involved with their many services. For example, you can be a volunteer at the Junction 142 Food Service which provides hot meals three days each week and gives out food hampers for people to take home.

From Term 2, further opportunities to volunteer at Junction 142 will be advertised on the school notice boards and via email. Please see Mr. O’Keeffe if you are interested in assisting in this program.

It’s a wonderful  opportunity to get involved with others in our community and help those in need.
