Project Compassion

Our Yr 6 Social Justice Leaders, Kouta, Alice, Cooper, Chloe, Indie & Isla. H, recently met for the first time and discussed the importance and meaning of social justice to our school and community and ways in which they as leaders want to create positive change. They brainstormed ideas and created their motto: Positive choices and actions lead to impactful changes and reactions! This term they will focus on leading the Caritas Australia Project Compassion.

Next week, with the start of the season of Lent on Ash Wednesday, we also mark the beginning of the annual Caritas Australia Project Compassion Appeal. Donations to Project Compassion allow Caritas Australia, the Catholic Agency for International Aid and Development, to work with local communities around the world to end poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity.

The theme of Project Compassion 2023 is ‘For All Future Generations’ and reminds us that the good we do today extends to impact the lives of generations to come. It invites us to make the world a better place by working together now and finding long-term solutions to global issues.  We encourage you to put your compassion into action this Lent through prayer, fasting and almsgiving in support of Project Compassion. On Ash Wednesday, each class will receive a Project Compassion box for their donations, which will be collected and tallied by our Yr 6 Social Justice Leaders weekly. Thank you for your generosity and continued support with this cause.
