Last week, 1/2K had fun logging onto their new laptops and using their own QR code to log into Matific. They enjoyed exploring Adventure Island and completing some of the activities. A big thank you to our DLT coaches Hugo, Alysha, Jake and Kiyoko for all your assistance. Well done 1/2K. You were all amazing and very responsible.😊

Year 5SB persuasive texts

The Year 5’s came to school last Friday to discover their chairs had quit. Here is a letter from the chairs to the Year 5s.

The Year 5 cohort decided to write the chairs a letter to persuade them to come back. Read the amazing powers of persuasion the year 5s possess!

Fortunately for all the chairs returned.

Annabelle 5SB

"Dear 5SB chair committee,

Tired, hurt, and sad. I understand. We are so sorry for overusing you. We know it hurts, and all day as well! I just never thought of it before. But you can’t quit, please come back! If you come back to us, we can put a cushion on you, give you more breaks, and be more respectful to you. We can’t live without you!

Firstly, you say you hate our bums on your face, and they’re hard? We will put a cushion on your face. It will be soft, and surely better than our plain old bums.

You are all so overworked, but we can definitely give you breaks! At the end of each session, we will get off you for 5 minutes. You get recess and lunch as well, not to mention 5 sessions a week free for specialists. You will feel refreshed, ready and reset for the next session. We can also sit on the floor more!

As we all know, a lot of 5SB are wobbling you, farting on you, and putting their dirty feet on you. Nobody could ever like that!

But we can put a stop to this! If you come back, we wont wobble or fart, and we most CERTAINLY won’t put our feet on you. Some of us don’t do it in the first place, but we understand.

If you don’t return to us, we will end up like ship wrecks. Our bodies will be destroyed, our muscles will ache, our bones will crack! Please don’t do this to us! We will put a cushion on you, give more breaks, and be more respectful. You MUST come back! We miss you!

"Dear 5SB Chair Committee,

We are so sorry to see that you are steamed at us for sitting on you so much. I mean, quitting was a bit indulgent, you have to admit. I will attempt to give you more frequent breaks, put cushions on you to help with our butt bones and if you don’t come back we will grow up with crippled bones.

Reason 1: I will try to give you more frequent breaks by: Sitting on the floor when it is possible, or sitting in the reading corner in independent reading time. You do already have specialist breaks four times a week plus recess and lunch every day, so, did you really even need to quit?

Reason 2: I will put cushions on you when I do sit on you so that you don’t have to feel crushed by our butt bones and our weight (Even though I only weigh like thirty kilos) I mean, our buts aren’t THAT bony, are they?

Reason 3: If you don’t come back I will grow up to become crippled. Imagine if you had to stand up and bend over every time you had to do a worksheet! I’d grow up permanently bent over like a sickle!! So, please come back? I miss you…*Sniff*

In conclusion, I hope you now understand why I beg you to come back and let us sit down at our tables. I promise you will not regret it. We will treasure you if you come back. We will give you more breaks, put cushions on you and if you come back we will have a backrest when we are doing our work.

"Dear 5SB Chair Committee,

Annoyed, tired and furious, I know how it feels chairs. I’m so sorry for sitting on you every day without breaks, but we need you! You MUST come back! I BEG YOU! It has been only ten minutes and I’m already in pain, if this keeps continuing I will be crippled for life! My whole body will be in pain, but the most painful thing will be my heart because you left me! From now on I will give you more breaks between sessions, I will be more respectful to you and I will put a cushion on the you! If these reasons don’t bring you back I don’t know what will!

Firstly, every week there is 5 recesses, 5 lunches, 5 specialists (including library) and we don’t even sit on you for the weekends! And according to the head of the IPS Chair Committee chairs are made to be sat on, it is your job! But from now on I will have dance breaks between every session and I will sit on the floor more! I will do all of this just for you!

Secondly, I will be respectful to you at all times. I won’t swing on you, I will sit on you properly, I won’t put my feet on you, I won’t bounce on you and I won’t even fart on you anymore! All those people putting their smelly feet on you and swinging on you must make you very annoyed, I feel your pain chairs.

Last but not least, I will put a cushion on you so your face won’t be touching my bottom. Instead of my bottom you will have a comfy cushion on you! And it will also be comfier for me, so it is a win- win!

So, would you please come back! I can’t live without you! When you come back you will be respected, you will have a comfy cushion on you and you will have more breaks between!

"Dear 5SB Chair Committee,

Tired, overworked and stinky. I have noticed that you’re tired how we sit on you every day and you are now sick of us. WE NEED YOU! WE BEG YOU! YOU MUST COME BACK! I will make sure that I’ll give you extra breaks in between sessions, be more respectful to you and put a cushion on you so my bottom doesn’t touch you. You should come back now.

Firstly, if you come back to 5SB I would give you many extra breaks in between sessions and do more five minutes dances or shake breaks for you to get a rest. We also do give you breaks when we get four sessions a week for specialists plus one for the library and for recess and lunch. Isn’t that enough for you? We need you, our muscles will break and never recover without you.

Additionally, if you come back at the tables I will be more respectful by not swinging, not bouncing and I will never ever fart on you again. The things I did in the past, I know is being disrespectful but I’m going to fix that. Bouncing, swinging and farting is now a forbidden and I will ensure that no one else in 5SB will do that nonsense ever again.

Lastly, if you come back to me and everyone else I will ensure that I’ll put a cushion on you when I sit on you so my bottom doesn’t touch your beautiful, precious and happy face. My fart will also not go on your face so you can’t smell it. There’s also a win win for both of us because I get a nice base for me and you won’t get tired of me and my bottom.

Ultimately, I will give you more breaks, I will be more respectful when I sit on you and I’ll put a cushion on you so you don’t have my bottom squished on your face. I need you to come back! We all need all of you! YOU MUST COME BACK!

"Dear 5SB Chair Committee,

Overused, tired and in disgust. I truly understand your disappointment and I’d like to make it up to you guys by putting a cushion on you, giving you breaks every hour or two and by sitting on you respectfully. I know it must hurt and stink but my back is throbbing and my bones are about to crumble into pieces like dry cake and its only been 10 minutes. PLEASE you must come back, I’m begging you. Here are some reasons that I think will make you regret quitting.

Firstly, if you come back to the table committee I will try nonstop to sit respectfully, properly and quietly on you at all times. I know it’s hard to forgive me but I will make it up to you. I can totally relate and I would not like it if someone sat on my face and kept moving around.

Secondly, I will put a cushion on your face so our pointy bones don’t hurt your beautiful faces. I cannot believe I was so mean, clueless and entitled that I did not realise I was hurting you. I promise that for this whole year I will look after your face and massage from time to time if your face hurts.

Finally, I will give you more breaks but as you already get 7 breaks every week I will only give you 2 more breaks as you are having these 2 break 5SB will have a shake break or a dance break. If you feel like you need an extra break I will give you one by working while standing up for 5 to 10 minutes. This is my last argument but I know this will convince you. Please you MUST come back.

In conclusion, I hope a cushion, extra breaks and respectful seating habits will help you forgive 5SB. As I said before our backs are throbbing and our bones are about to crumble into a million pieces. You need to come back it’s what Mrs Stott and Ms Blanas hired you to do.

Clean Up Australia Day

Hi everyone, my name is Arthur and I am in Year 3.

This year I am hosting a Clean Up Australia Day event.

Clean Up Australia Day started a long time ago but there is still a lot of work to do to protect our environment.

I will be at Ford Park on Sunday the 5th of March from 11am to 12pm.

We will meet at the playground and pick up all the rubbish.
