Year 11 Medea Incursion

The Martin Culkin Theatre buzzing with excitement when the famous Eagles Nest Theatre Company paid DHS a visit for our Year 11 English incursion this term. These incredibly talented actors brought the key scenes from the play Medea to life, captivating and leaving us wanting more. The performance immersed students in the world of Medea, an ancient tragedy filled with passion, betrayal, and revenge.

The interactive nature of the incursion allowed students to engage with the actors, asking them deep and thought-provoking questions, and exploring the motivations behind the characters' actions. Witnessing Medea's struggles and her descent into darkness sparked intense discussions among students. Some of them connected with her pain and suffering, while others sympathised with the victims of her fury. The incursion generated a divided response, igniting conversations that extended beyond the classroom.

The Year 11 English incursion with Eagles Nest Theatre Company was a roaring success; not only did it bring the play to life but also ignited students’ curiosity and self-reflection. We were incredibly lucky to work with this talented troupe and we can’t wait to have them back at DHS again!
