Connection Topic

Throughout Term 3 students have been studying the various cultures and connections we have with countries in the continents of Africa and South America. They have made some great comparisons between the natural environments, the people and have gained insight into life there as a student.  Recently we have been studying the Amazon fires still raging across Brazil and how it has become a global issue due to the amount of vital, oxygen producing trees being destroyed each day. The children were very passionate about making people more aware of this issue and produced some informative, persuasive posters to tell everyone about what can be done to stop further destruction.

CU2 and CU1

CU2 students have settled back into the routines of the Carlsruhe Campus and have loved the opportunity to get their hands dirty with weeding gardens and becoming familiar with the new animals. CU1 is also loving the opportunity to be back at the Main Campus and have enjoyed exploring the new spaces since the building works finished.

Shoebox Gardens

Last week students had the opportunity to enter a Shoebox Garden in the Kyneton Daffodil and Arts Festival. Everyone was incredibly impressed by the amount of thought and planning that went into these which was brilliant to see. A huge thank you to the parents who helped transport these to and from the show, it is greatly appreciated.

Please have a look at some of the entries below.

Animal Holiday Care

Thank you to parents who have volunteered to help out by either taking home the Guinea Pigs or feeding the chickens for the up-coming holidays. We are still looking for some volunteers so if you are able to help out please email Mr Spilsted (spilsted.nathan.n@edumail.vic.gov.au) and let him know your availabilities as soon as possible.

Project

A reminder that in the early weeks of Term 4 the students', Term 3 Connections projects are due.

Information about the project has been shared via Compass and the students have copied a sample of the format onto their netbooks.
