Plant Label Art Competition

The winner and finalists for the Plant Label Art Competition were announced at Friday’s assembly. Mrs Ellis, Mrs Graham and art teacher Miss Mann had a difficult time selecting a single winner from the 110 entrants. The judges were looking for a colourful artwork that included native plants.

Winner:

  • Ella CU1 – wonderful bright pastel artwork of native plants titled ‘Black Gum Wattle’

Runner ups:

  • Catalina MU2 – fun colourful texta drawing of flowers and rainbow
  • Mercedes MU5 – interesting painting of a tree and garden using contrasting colours
  • Grace CU2 – fabulously detailed pencil drawing of Australian plants and animals

Short list:

  • Bella MU3
  • Blake MU3
  • Jenson MU3
  • Olivia MU3
  • Kyan MU4
  • Hannah MU5
  • Mia MU5
  • Rose MU6

Well done to all entrants – it was fabulous to see so many plant paintings, drawings and collages.

The winning artwork will be used for the professionally made plant labels that will provide information about each native species in the Indigenous Plant Garden. The Indigenous Garden planting day will occur early in term 4.
