This week I  have had a special focus on fine motor skills. This includes muscle development in fingers hands and lower arms.  We use many different tools to develop muscles and increase manipulation of pencils.

We also work on correction of pencil grips, sometimes using a special pencil grip tool which is placed onto the pencil. This helps children to learn how to hold their pencils correctly.  A correct pencil grip allows children to make seamless and efficient finger movements and can influence motor and joint development.  In turn this can influence a students enjoyment of writing.
