Bind, bind, closer, the old and new …

The spirit of the refrain of our much-loved school song, defines the 2018 —2020 Alumnae Association Presidency.

Marianne Cassin and I were elected as inaugural Co-Presidents at the 2017—18 AGM on 20 May. Marianne is “old” as in time and experience as the Association Secretary but “new” to the Presidency role. I am “old” as having been President back in 1975 —76 but “new” to the current Alumnae Association Committee. But we are Cor Unum as Co-Presidents, in every respect.

"We do have some disquiet to be following Marisa Reid. Marisa was an exceptional President from 2012—18. She placed an indelible “stamp on the character” of the Association and worked tirelessly to bind the old and new. Fortunately, she is remaining on the Committee."

TheAGM was well attended and the 1958 and 1948 (or thereabouts) reunions were a great success. The new Principal, Anna Masters, joined the meeting and confirmed the importance of having a viable Alumnae Association.

Two important events for alumnae in the 2018 school calendar, are the :

130th Anniversary Gala Ball

on Saturday 11 August 2018

French Village Fair

on Saturday 13 October 2018

The Gala Anniversary Ball is a wonderful opportunity for alumnae to celebrate our history and traditions, and importantly to remember what we have shared and valued over part of this time.

Sophie's Farm will benefit from the proceeds of the French Village Fair this year and the Fair is another opportunity for alumnae to enjoy amity and contribute to this RSCJ Project.
