Secondary 9/10
Highlights and Achievements for Term 2
Term 2 has been a busy term for the Secondary 9/10 students. Students really enjoyed the Sports Day, held earlier in the term. Although it was cold and windy, we were lucky that the rain held off and students were able to participate in a variety of physical activities run by the Secondary 11/12 students.
In May, we celebrated Education Week with the focus being on Careers. During the week, students conducted some research on different career options which complimented their Career Education classes which are run by Annemarie, during the elective programs. We also had an Open Day, where families came to visit classrooms and observe a typical Thursday morning session in the Secondary 9/10 area.
Throughout this semester students in the Mixed Ability classes have had a focus on government and all went to visit Parliament House. This gave students an insight into how our government works and they were able to have a go at voting using ballot boxes up in the Discovery Centre, during SRC nominations.
