Physical Vibe

What a year 2021 has turned out to be - not only did the students survive, they have thrived during Physical Vibe lessons.

Congratulations to all the students and their families on a memorable year. Enjoy a much deserved break and can not wait to be back in 2022 with loads of fun events for the whole school community to be involved in!

First date on the calendar is the House Swimming carnival for year 4, 5 and 6 on Friday 25th February!

First Aid Incursion

All classes were able to complete their First Aid in Schools sessions online this week. The feedback from students and staff has been positive.

The knowledge and skills gained in the sessions increased the students First Aid knowledge and awareness in a fun manner through games and role plays.

Water Safety Week

In Week 9 we celebrated Water Safety Week. Each class completed some dry swimming activities and games. With the holidays and warmer months upon us please ensure you continue to have conversations about water safety in a variety of settings - home, pool, beach, rivers and lakes. The more knowledge we give our children, the better equipped they will be at making good choices around water.

I think the highlight was the Kids Alive Do the 5 song - who knew Miss J and Mrs Halket could sing and dance!

Staff vs Year 6 student Tball game

To celebrate our graduating class we continued the tradition of ‘Staff vs Year 6’ match. The nominated sport this year was t-ball. The oval was jam packed with adoring fans - it was hard to say who had the biggest cheer squad. The Jingle Ballers (staff team) were dressed in their best Christmas attire with Mr Corcoran rocking the red shirt and wig. I think his outfit proved a distraction for the opposition! The student team took their role very seriously and did not give the teachers an inch under the watchful eye of Coach J. Some of the highlights were Miss A’s ability to keep her eye on the ball, Mrs Waiti’s work on first base and Mrs Cattanach’s countless throws to dismiss the runners! Unfortunately there could only be one winner… 'apparently' it was the students by 3! Bring on 2022 - the teachers are coming for you year 5s!

Environmental Studies

Congratulations to all students for embracing our first year of Environmental Studies. The Year 3/4 cooking classes and garden days were a great success, the highlight for me would have to be using the apples from our apple trees to make apple cake, yum!

The Year 5/6 students created our wildlife corridor at the back of the school and we look forward to watching this legacy grow. We also snuck in a quick excursion to the Cranbourne Botanical Gardens on Tuesday to embrace our stunning natural environment.

Nature Play was so much fun for the Junior School, we played in puddles, made mud, got dirty and learnt all about our school environment and the creatures that live in it.

Thank you to all the students for such a wonderful year.
