Student Services : Wellbeing

Holidays are ahead

The school holidays are almost upon us after another disruptive term. We have been so impressed with the resilience that students have shown and their constant support for each other during these challenging times.

Holidays give us a chance to take some time for self-care and some fun activities too. It’s also the perfect time for some self-reflection. You may like to ask yourself some questions or write them down and have a think about the answers.

  • What’s something you accomplished this term that you are proud of?
  • What was the most challenging part of this term?
  • What was something you did to help someone?
  • What is something that was hard for you at the start of term but is easy now?

Pets of Student Services - meet Karma

Pets are providing us with a lot of comfort during lockdown and we thought you might like to meet a few of our furry friends!

Hi my name is Karma and I belong to Ms Archibald and her family. I am a Great Dane cross and I love nothing more than spending my entire day sleeping in the sun. I also love annoying the cats, swimming in the nearby creek, picking fights with bees and sitting on my human's laps but I am told that I am too big for that now!

R U OK? Day

Last Thursday was R U OK? Day. R U OK Day should not be something we ask our friends and family on just one day of the year, especially in the difficult times we are facing at the moment. Sometimes we don’t ask because we are afraid of the answer.

The R U OK campaign provides some useful information about how to have the conversation with someone about how they are going. Check in with the people you love regularly.

The Royal Children’s hospital has collated some amazing resources to help support children’s mental health. There are links to fact sheets, podcasts, and great ideas for keeping busy.
