Jordan A. - 00L

This award goes to Jordan for his beautiful reading this week. Jordan practised noticing different digraphs in his books and then used these to solve new words. He also put in a super effort to notice the middle sounds of big words in his books. Well done Jordan! You are a Scoresby superstar.

Adalyn S. - 1/2D

Adalyn is receiving this award for her enthusiastic approach to Remote Learning this week. She continually shows the HEART value of Respect as she demonstrates whole body listening, even whilst at home. This week, Adalyn also showed kindness by creating a Kindness Tree. She used a tree branch as the base and filled the tree with beautiful messages to her family. Congratulations Adalyn – you’re a star!

Jaxx W. - 1/2F

Jaxx is receiving this award for being a remote learning superstar. He has done an awesome job keeping up with all his work and joining Webex meetings. This week he identified the genre of the book Captain Underpants, spoke with enthusiasm about the reasons he enjoys reading it and shared his opinion about how it could be improved. Well done, Jaxx! Keep up the great work!

Lucas N. - 1/2K

For his fantastic understanding of place value. Lucas was able to identify which numbers were represented by concrete materials. He could apply his understanding of place value to create a number which fit between two other numbers. He accurately reads 3 and 4 digit numbers. Well done Lucas!

Sosefina A. - 3/4C

The 3/4C award goes to Sosefina for the excellent questions she thought of for her research topic in Writing. Sosefina chose Sugar Gliders as her topic. Some examples of the questions that she brainstormed were:

- Where do they live?

- How do they fly?

- How do they land?

- What size are they?

Well done Sosefina! You have thought of some brilliant questions. Keep up the great work!

Rohaan M. - 3/4E

During remote learning this week Rohaan has shown the HEART value of excellence in all that he’s done. In our small group reading session, we practised summarising information into dot points while watching a video. Rohaan was able to identify the most important information about lions and use his own words to re-write the information into dot points. He also recognised that to get as much information as possible it is important to watch the video multiple times. You’re a superstar Rohaan, you should be so proud of yourself!

Jacob M. - 3/4S

Jacob has been working hard to learn his sight words and practise listening to the sounds he hears in these words. Jacob is reading familiar texts with more fluency and enjoys talking about the stories he reads. Well done Jacob.

Renata K. - 5/6B

Renata is an exceptionally hard worker and I have been very impressed with his Integrated Studies work on our new ‘Intergalactic Travels’ unit. He included a range of facts about Mercury in his planet quiz and drew a wonderful landscape picture of what it would look like on the surface of Venus. Well done Renata!

Cooper D. - 5/6M

This award goes to Cooper for the positive attitude he displays in all areas of his learning. Cooper completes most set tasks to his best ability and I have been particularly impressed with the continued dedication to his ongoing learning during Remote Learning. Cooper, you are funny and a valued member of 5/6M.

Jake W. - 5/6W

For his enthusiasm when attending on site learning. Jake was excited for our new Integrated Studies unit called ‘Intergalactic Travel’ where he has shared his extensive knowledge of the planets and the solar system. This week, he has coloured and ordered the planets whilst being able to describe their features. He has also enjoyed sharing this knowledge with his peers. He is our 5/6W planet superstar! Great work Jake!

Tom B. - Visual Arts

Students explored photography this week in Visual Arts. Tom did an amazing job! His photos were crystal clear and the creatures were near the centre. Tom zoomed in with his feet rather than using the zoom feature on the phone he was using. Stunning, fabulous work Tom.
