Student of the Week Awards Presented 8/10/21

These awards are from 6/8/21 (Week 4 of Term 3) but were presented at the whole-school Webex assembly on Friday 20th August.

Adrian Y. - 00L

This award goes to Adrian for the super effort he has put into his handwriting and reading this week. Adrian took his time to carefully form all of his lowercase letters. In Reading, he did a terrific job sounding out the letters in new words. You should be very proud of yourself Adrian. Adrian you are a Scoresby Superstar! Well done.

Cooper L. - 00N

Cooper is to be congratulated on displaying the GEM value Excellence during Remote Learning. Tom has consistently completed set work and has engaged fully in our Webex meetings. Congratulations Cooper, we are all very proud of you. You are a Scoresby Superstar!

Piper W. - 1/2D

Piper is to be congratulated for her smooth transition into Term 4. As always, she has been joining each Webex on time, engaging in conversations, sharing her opinions and respectfully listening to others. Piper has quickly taken on our school’s new SMART spelling approach and enthusiastically participated in our class spelling dictation this week. Well done on a fantastic start to the term, Piper! 

The Whole Grade - 1/2F

Congratulations 1/2F on your resilience and independence this week. You have all independently accessed learning on Google Classrooms and got off to a great Term 4 start. What wonderful Scoresby Primary Students you all are!

Airlea H. - 1/2K

This week’s student of the week award goes to Airlea for getting off to a terrific start on google classrooms. You were up and ready on Monday morning and the first in our class to reply to our morning message. You have put in great effort on work submitted independently from home. Well done Airlea!

Lily M. - 3/4C

The 3/4C award goes to Lily for the wonderful enthusiasm she shows during whole class and small group WebEx meetings. Lily showed the class new sign language she has recently learnt and also happily contributes to a variety of class discussions. Keep it up, Lily!

Sneha J. - 3/4E

Sneha has returned to remote learning for Term 4 with a fantastic attitude. She has shown great initiative by completing tasks on time and contributing to class discussions during our whole class and small group Webex sessions. Sneha demonstrated the HEART value of excellence during our small group reading session where she identified many of the different text features of a nonficition text and explained why they are used. You should be so proud of yourself Sneha!

Brandon B. - 3/4S

Brandon is congratulated on completing his SMART Spelling activities this week. Brandon has been able to identify the sounds in the words and wrote interesting sentences using his weekly spelling words. Brandon, it will be great when we get back to school so that we can play more games using our spelling words each week.

Mia S. - 5/6B

Mia has had a great start to the new term. She is an active participant in all Webex meetings and eagerly share her ideas and knowledge. I have been so impressed with Mia’s efforts in her Reading Group. She has shown pleasing improvements with her ability to look at clues in the text and make reasonable inferences about the character’s traits and feelings. Keep up the great work Mia!

Abraham A. - 5/6M

This award goes to Abraham for the positive attitude he has displayed during Remote Learning this week. Abraham has attended and when prompted contributes to all our class WebEx sessions, and as always tried his hardest with the set tasks. Abraham, I am so proud of you and I am very happy that you are in 5/6M this year.

Scarlett G. - 5/6W

For the wonderful information report that she has written. This week, Scarlett created a mind map that included a variety of facts about the game ‘The Mimic’. She wrote a detailed introduction and included supporting paragraphs, each with a subheading and relevant information for her readers. Wonderful effort Scarlett! You have made a great start to Term 4.

Olivia C. - Visual Arts

Olivia designed a fabulous, Romero Britto style, art piece! The grass area was very clever as she repeated patterns using green tones. Olivia’s attention to detail, careful colouring, variety of patterns and understanding of colour are evident in her finished art. Superb work and effort Olivia!
