Lock-down 6.0 continued...

Hello everyone,

We are all getting ready here for the proposed return of students and staff.  There is a lot to organise in terms of ventilation, safety process' and timetabling for onsite and remote learning as a hybrid model. If all goes well we will have everyone back by Friday November 5th.

We were very fortunate to secure a Bendigo Bank Community Grant for 2021 to support health and wellbeing outdoors by creating passive play areas for the students through large puzzles, games and learning tools around the school grounds and gardens.

Together with our sensory garden, we are well on the way to creating an interactive and engaging playground for our students to explore together.  We have been planting out our Sensory Garden and will be adding to our path a range of sensory textures for the students to enjoy. There's still a lot to be done, but we are well on our way.  The plants chosen have come from Kuranga Native Nursery, who have a brilliant range of butterfly attracting natives to choose from.

Virtual Camp next week

We open our whole school Virtual Camp on Monday morning at 10am in my personal WebEx room (see below)

There is a mystery Bus Driver and we will kick off a week of absolutely fantastic activities the teachers have put together for you.  I actually don't know where they get their energy from. The teachers, office staff and the students just keep going and coming up with brilliant ideas. I am particularly looking forward to the Bitmoji Orienteering Challenge. I have no idea what the Cereal Box Challenge is, but can't wait to find out. At that's just two of the activities.  Your children can participate in as much or as little as they feel up to but we wanted to have the last week be about having time together as a whole school and  connecting all the students together before staggering back onsite.

The WPS Virtual Camp Website will go live on Sunday night and the students will receive the link and information via their learning platforms. See you at the grand opening of the Virtual Camp on Monday!

Have a great weekend and stay safe.
