What are we learning about at HS?
As we move forward into Term 4 the focus of our learning will be within the areas of Religious Education, English, Mathematics, and Wellbeing. Other curriculum areas will be in focus (P-4: Design & Technology and 5/6: Media Arts) but more time will be allocated to the teaching and learning in the subject areas of priority as we begin to transition our students into their new grades for 2022.
This year has been a challenging year for all students at Holy Spirit. We are proud of how each one of them have transitioned and flipped between different learning styles that have been thrown in their direction.
As we begin to transition our students back to onsite learning, plans are being put into place to ensure it is as smooth and successful as possible. Our teaching staff are working together to plan and address as many of the unknowns as possible. We are hoping to send out a more in depth and detailed plan to our families soon.
Week 3
Next week, our timetable will look different as our Prep-Year 2 students begin to learn from school once again. Our morning Google Meet calls for classes who are not at school will all begin at 9:15am (previously 9:00am) due to the staggered start times for our junior grade students. These times are indicated in the classroom timetables for your reference.
Our Google Site will continue to be published while we are in a staggered school environment and timetables and learning will be housed on here as per our usual ways of working during remote learning.
Please keep in mind that only learning for remote days will be placed on our Google Site.
Week 3:
Prep: Thursday & Friday
1/2: Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday
Our staff will not be required to provide learning for students who are not learning from school due to choice. For other circumstances and exemptions, please contact Duncan or your child's classroom teacher.
We are looking forward to having our students onsite with us once again. It has been too long.
Unfortunately the school production for this year has needed to be cancelled. Whilst this is unfortunate, Sherree and I are working on a plan which sees Holy Spirit provide the opportunity to showcase our students' talents in some way. More information will follow.
Our ICAS Assessments for families who signed up for this opportunity will still be taking place once all our students have been transitioned back to school. The dates are on the school calendar and an updated Operoo form has been emailed home. Please make sure you have signed permission for your child/children to sit this assessment. The assessment dates are as follows:
Thank you for your flexibility with these changes. I appreciate it.
We are looking forward to sharing our learning journey with you in Term 4. Stay tuned for updates in the fortnightly newsletter. Thanks everyone! Stay well & Keep smiling!
