Men Premier League Reserves

After a tough year, and the longest preseason ever, I could not be prouder of the work ethic, professionalism and energy from each and every player involved in the Men’s Premier League Reserves for the past two years in such trying circumstances.
With a strong group and a mix of both younger and experienced players, the team was itching for the season to start after missing all of 2020. The boys hit the ground running, winning the first four games, scoring 24 goals, conceding only, and putting us on top of the league. Most notable was a hard fought away win to Greensborough. Both PL and PLR did the double that day and it was a memorable one for the club. The strength of the defensive unit, desire to keep the opposition goalless and forward pressure to score were evident in the stats. These themes stayed strong throughout the season.
The remaining games of the season were mixed, with some dominant wins, some close games, a couple of losses and a draw. It was disappointing that the season was once again interrupted by lockdowns, as the team was set to attack the finals, sitting third on the ladder.
Overall, the Mens PLR had a great season and I am so proud of all of their efforts. As a team we had a lot of fun, positivity and a focused mindset throughout the season, especially considering all the interruptions, which is a credit to everyone involved. Some notable efforts from each of the lines:
The boys will reset in the offseason and come back stronger than ever and push for another flag!
