Music Program at McCarthy

The music programs at the College have resumed for the year. Jazz Band rehearses on Wednesday mornings and Concert Band rehearses on Thursday morning. Both bands are working towards their first performance for the year at the College Open Day in March. Year 7 students who wish to join the Music program this year need to return their notes to the office by Friday 14 February. Other members of the college community who wish to join the band need to see Ms Swan about a note and have this returned to her by Friday 14 February also. The junior band program will begin in Week 5 of this term on Tuesday mornings. Also available are lessons through the Tamworth Conservatorium of Music. These lessons can occur outside of college hours, however tutors also come into the school on timetabled days to provide lessons for instrumental students. If you are interested in these, please speak with Mr McNeill. Other music programs include the Choir, Brass Ensembles, Saxophone Ensemble and Woodwind Ensemble, as well as guitar groups and rock bands. Please feel free to discuss your involvement in these with either Ms Swan or Mr McNeill.
