Yr 9 STEAM Design & Yr 9 Ceramics

This year Emerald Secondary College has been lucky to purchase 10 brand new 3D printers. This increases student opportunities to access the technology. The Year 9 STEAM design class thoroughly enjoyed setting them up and completing test prints. One student in the class, William Latter designed a plug in for our slicing program to facilitate accurate prints.

The class then designed and printed nameplates.

Year 9 students were able to test themselves on the pottery wheels in Ceramics. They were quite surprised at how difficult it was to control such a small amount of clay. I am not sure if we ended up with anything functional, but we had a good time.

Monash Gallery of Art Topshots Exhibition

Congratulations to 2021 College Captain Ella Chawkley whose photograph 'Illusory' has been accepted into Monash Gallery of Art's Topshots exhibition for 2022. 

MGA is Australia’s leading public art gallery devoted to the collection and exhibition of photography, and TOPshots is its annual exhibition showcasing outstanding artwork produced by students studying the VCE subjects of Art, Media and Studio Arts.

Topshots will be exhibited at MGA's Wheelers Hill gallery later this year.
