Year 10 Photography
Year 10 photography students learnt how to paint with light.
Painting with light is a fantastic photography technique where you illuminate parts of your scene with a torch, or other light, to add emphasis and colour to certain objects during a long exposure. Students had a great deal of fun creating long exposure photographs with a light source. Some student chose to write their initials and others drew wings to give the illusion they had wings, whilst other students waved the light around to create lines and shapes. Once students saw the results from the activity, they wanted to go back and refine the photographs and use other objects to illuminate and get more creative with their work. Overall it was a fun and exciting activity for students to learn about long exposure and shutter speeds.
We are excited to be moving onto our next unit of focus which is using light and portraits to create a front cover of a magazine. Students will learn how to use photoshop and light sources.
