Sports Leaders assist Primary Athletics Day

Swimming Carnival held at the Eureka Pool

PRIMARY ATHLETICS DAY

I ventured out in the rain to check on our Sport Leaders yesterday at the Primary Athletics Day.  They were absolutely drenched, but in great spirits, in school uniform and displaying the values of Woodmans Hill excellently…..before the event was washed out!

Please find below some feedback from Chloe Dew - Black Hill Primary’s Sport Coordinator/Primary Greater Western Region Coordinator.

Give all of these students a pat on the back if you see them, this is amazing praise from Chloe, and these students should be incredibly proud of themselves.

Hi Claire

I just wanted to let you know that your students were beyond fantastic today. They helped our event run smoothly (until we got washed out). They were friendly and encouraging to our students and added to the general vibe and atmosphere of the day.

I am so keen to engage your students again in the future - such a great opportunity for our students to work with students from the school they will likely attend one day!

Thanks again

EUREKA SWIMMING CARNIVAL

Another update from sport yesterday! Our swimmers also braved the rain to swim their hearts out at the Eureka Swimming Carnival.

Overall, we placed 6th on 129 points for the day. And we have received the Wendy Alexander Shield for the 3rd year in a row which is a standardised trophy indicating our average points across the past few years. This shows our hard work in getting more students participating in swimming consistently and the students efforts!

All students were well behaved and tried their best and remained resilient even though they were very cold.

Thanks to Shae and Dave for braving the rain as well and taking the students out. They really enjoyed the day.

Eureka Division Swimming Sports -1st March, 2022

On Tuesday, a group of students braved the Ballarat weather and represented Woodmans Hill Secondary College at the Eureka Division Swimming Sports. The students represented the school with pride, where they were able to show their skills and talents in competing in their represented swimming events. On the side lines, we had individuals cheering and shouting for the swimmers in the pool, which made the atmosphere even more exciting. The under 13 girls relay team came second in the freestyle relay, where the under 14 boys freestyle relay came home with a third. Amazing efforts to everyone who competed – we are very proud of you.
