VCAL Adventure Learning Camp (7th & 8th of February)

As part of their orientation into VCAL, students were fortunate to participate in an adventure based overnight camp adopting some of the elements of the Survivor TV series. When the group arrived at the Scout Camp in Anglesea, they were greeted by two survival experts who positioned them into two tribes. From there, students engaged in a series of survival activities which taught them the skills to start fire, find water in arid areas, hunt, trap as well as build a stable shelter in nature. The two tribes competed in a series of reward challenges and were also given the opportunity to camp out in the shelters their teams had built throughout the day. 

This was an amazing experience for everyone involved and all of the students must be congratulated for stepping out of their comfort zones and challenging themselves in unfamiliar situations.  Thank you to Sam Blair, Penny Linardos and Aaron Prior for attending the camp and supporting the group during the two days.
