Science News

As we come to the end of a very busy and eventful term, we wish you an enjoyable rest and we encourage you to spend time outdoors revelling in nature and counting our many blessings.

The science students have been busy as usual, building brains and learning more about the phenomena that they can observe each day.

Year 7 continue to use the technology to either explore microorganisms or explore the universe.

Year 8 have been studying the systems that make their bodies function for them and now they will look at their responsibilities and place in the ecosystems and how they can be sustained as a beautiful and healthy home for many animals, including us.

Year 9 also are looking at ecosystems after studying the massive universe so they have an understanding of the unique place that we occupy in the grand scheme of natural wonders. Our Earth is so very precious and so we need to respect it and look after it.

Year 10 are studying the waves that make our mobile phones, computers and eyes work as well as many other waves. Some classes are exploring the chemical world as they think of senior study of Physics and Chemistry.

Mrs Dumbleton and Mrs Dangol are exploring some team teaching experiences where they prepare and deliver lessons to Year 9 and Year 10. The idea is that they can learn from each other as they develop the best pedagogical practices and discuss student engagement and learning.
