“So in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others”. (Romans 12:5)

Having a collaborative and supportive School community is critical to the success of any educational organisation. Over the last few weeks we have witnessed many examples of this.

For the first time this year our College staff and students gathered together for an emotional farewell to our Principal Mr Le Brocque. Students and staff both joined in giving Mr Le Brocque a memorable send off with music, dance, speeches and finishing with a guard of honour at the end of the day. A true Marian farewell and an example of our College Mission in action.

I also wish to thank parents and students for their support in ensuring vandalism in our toilets ceased. Students generally took a mature approach to restrictions put in place last week and were helpful in assisting staff preventing further damage.

In the coming weeks there will be more opportunity for our community to come together.

This Friday, Year 12 students will host a lunch for staff in their new staff room. This is a tradition that was temporarily paused during COVID, but we are excited to restart again this year.

Students will attend their final classes on that day before finishing School on this day at 2:15 (end of recess). Mrs Segrave spoke to Year 12 students last week to remind them of their important role in our College community, this week and next and to ensure that they leave a positive legacy through responsible, caring and collaborative interactions with our College environment, staff and fellow students.

Next week, Year 12 students and parents have been invited to participate in the final Mass and Assembly. We are so pleased to be able to invite two guests per student onsite for the first time since COVID. The Mass will start at 9am and the Assembly at 10:15 with a short break in between.

Once students are farewelled on this day, they are still able to return to the College (without School uniform) to meet with teachers in preparation for their exams. I encourage Year 12 students to email teachers if they wish to meet, bring in drafts or ask questions to arrange a time in the final week, the holidays or the first week back next Term.

We remind Year 12 that staff, families and peers will be supporting them in the journey over the next 2 months and to seek advice, support and guidance where necessary.

“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them”.

(Matthew 18:20)

Yours in learning
