Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

Our Annual P & F Fundraiser is scheduled for 27th August and promises to be a fantastic evening.  This is a great way to get to know other parents in our wonderful community, as well as raise funds for school capital projects.  Bookings close tomorrow afternoon - Friday 19th August at 4pm.  This year the P & F will be assisting with furnishing the new  outdoor classroom as well as resurfacing this area as well.   The new display screens have been completed in the hall and will get their first use tomorrow at our book week parade assembly.

Book Week Parade

Don't forget the annual Book Week parade is on tomorrow.  The parade will take place in the hall during assembly time and we will be participating in Book Week activities during the day.  All children are encouraged to come to school dressed as their favourite book character.

Prep Prayers in Pajamas

My thanks to Miss. Sigrid Happell, Mrs. Fiona Byrne, Mrs. Sally Hill, Mrs. Sonia Blakey, Ms. Michelle Hill and Mr. Steele Anderson for coordinating the Prep Prayers in Pajamas on Tuesday evening.  It was a wonderful way to prepare our families for our upcoming Prep Mass to be held this Saturday 20th August at 5:30pm in the Church.  It was so good to see younger and older siblings with us celebrating our faith and even a few parents in Pajamas as well!

Swimming Lessons

School Swimming lessons will be starting on Monday 22nd of August (next week) and will conclude on Thursday 1st September.  Information for this will be sent via operoo.  All St. Finbar's Students are expected to participate in this very important life skill training.

Dad's Footy Match

Please keep the date - 3rd September free as our St. Finbar's Dads take on the St. Joan of Arc Dads in the annual footy match.  There will also be children's footy matches on as well as a longest kick comp for the Mums.

P & F Email Address

We have set up a generic email address for the P & F association for any questions parents may have regarding any P & F events or activities.  the email address is pandf@sfbrightoneast.catholic.edu.au this will go directly to the P & F President.  Clear communication methods are vitally important for all organisations, particularly schools.

Elevator Progress Update

We are on track for a resumption in work on the 30th of August.  On the 30th of August the internal fit out of the elevator and motor will begin.  This process should take approximately 2-3 weeks to be completed so we are expecting a 'Start of Term 4' grand opening! I will keep the community updated on progress works in the coming weeks.  Alex Sugar our mural artist is also scheduled to begin external painting at the end of this month.
