Helping our children to stay safe online: Messenger Kids
The Carly Ryan foundation https://www.carlyryanfoundation.com/ is an amazing South Australian based organisation which provides online safety, cyberbullying and proactive strategies to help our young people navigate the online space.
Attached is a fact sheet about Messenger Kids
Some key takeaways:
- The age rating in the App store is 6+
- Messenger Kids is designed for children between the ages of 6 and 12 to be able to communicate with their family and friends in a positive and safe way.
- As children under the age of 12 are unable to sign up to Facebook this version of Messenger must be set up through an adult Facebook account.

Girl Guides South Australia Inc ‘Come N Try’
Girl Guides South Australia is opening its doors and welcoming all girls aged 5-12 to participate in their mini-workshops across the summer.
The Girl Guides Positive Vibes Wellness Day is all about….Positivity!
Our first workshop will encourage our girls to:
- Build a stronger sense of self
- Recognise their strengths
- Understand the elements of a positive friendship
- Have tools to manage friendship challenges
- Feel gratitude on a daily basis
- Know how to manage stress and anxiety more effectively
