Meet the Authors
Junior School students were in for a treat! We’ve waited a long, long time for our special visitors. There wasn’t just one author visiting, but TWO!
Kylie Dunstan, who is no stranger to winning CBCA awards, shared her tips on how to illustrate and write a captivating story. The students, with clipboards, paper and pencil in hand, created their own drawings and characters, making use of their imagination and creativity. Oxley is not short on talent.
Oliver Phommavanh is a teacher, author and comedian all rolled into one! The Year 3-6 students were certainly left guessing what wonderous ideas were coming next. Oliver is eccentric and this shines through in his writing. He opens the door to seeing things from a Thai perspective as he embraces the differences in culture.
CBCA Book Week is always full of excitement with all things BOOKS! The students have examined and responded to the shortlisted books and acted as judges to make their favourite selection. Book Fair, author visits and a special Chapel are some of the things why we love this time of year so much!
Our Book Fair raised an outstanding $1,912.00. Money raised will assist in further developing the Junior School and Resource Centre collections. Thank you to our wonderful families who supported the Fair.
