Welcome Back

Welcome back to the start of the new school year.  I trust that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

I would like to welcome our new students, families and staff members as well as everyone returning for 2020.

We have had a slight change to our Leadership Team for the first two terms. I would like to congratulate Mike Tarleton who has been appointed our Student Wellbeing Leader. Mike will be working with students and staff to support wellbeing development. This is a new role for LNPS and we are excited to be able to support students and teachers in this area even further. Mike will be teaching Wednesday to Friday and we are in the process of appointing his Team Teacher.

Our Leadership Team for Term 1 and 2 will be as follows:

  • Principal - Tyson Grinham
  • Deputy Principal - Mirjana Grubor
  • Assistant Principal R-7 Teaching and Learning - Rosemary Saxon
  • Assistant Principal R-7 Student Wellbeing- Mike Tarleton

Over the past two days staff have been involved in Getting Off to a Great Start - 'Tuning into 2020'.

This has focussed on our people, through further developing connections and getting to know each other more, which we hope will promote ongoing conversations as we interact throughout the year.

This collaborative approach develops understanding across the school to ensure a consistent approach to teaching and learning and wellbeing.

This approach of focussing on our people will continue into the classrooms with students over the next weeks and also with families through information which will be distributed next week, and our 'Building Connections' - Community Night on Thursday 6th February.

The start to 2020 is extremely hectic in the first few weeks, so please check the diary dates listed in this iNewsletter to ensure you don’t miss anything.

On Tuesday morning if your child cannot remember which room they are in, Leadership will be in the yard from 8.30am with class lists, or you can make your way into the office to see Trudy and Vanessa.

We look forward to catching up with everyone on Tuesday.

'Building Connections' Community Night

Thursday 6th February 2020 // 5:30pm-7pm

In ensuring everyone makes a positive and great start to 2020, LNPS will be holding a community night event in Week 2, Thursday 6th February.

This evening will give families the opportunity to:

  • meet LNPS staff, other families and community members
  • enjoy Food Trucks
  • become informed about LNPS

We look forward to seeing many of our community members coming along and enjoying the evening.

Learning Conferences

In 2019 Goal Setting Meetings were a huge success and very beneficial for students, teachers and families.

Learning Conferences will be occurring with families and students during weeks 5 and 6 of this term and in Term 3.

More information about learning conferences and bookings for the meetings will be distributed on Friday of Week 3. This will be done via notes to families and in Teaching and Learning iNewsletters.
