Banyule Council

Youth Summit

On Tuesday, the 2nd of August, students from Greensborough College were invited to the Banyule Council Youth Summit – Report Card Conference.  This event had the council recognising and celebrating a range of programs and services offered to schools, students and youth in the Banyule area over the last two years.

The Conference had reports from a range of young people who shared their experiences with new programs they had inspired or participated in. Some highlights included learning about the Somali-Australian employment forum, the inclusive ‘Shout It Out’ event & concert and a clothing recycling program.

Ethan Barry, Leigh-Roy Roe and Troy Athanasiou, whilst the youngest presenters of the day,  spoke articulately about the ‘Man Cave’ program the Year 9 & Year 11 students participated in during Term 2.  After the presentations ended, our students had the opportunity to meet with the Banyule Council Mayor - Elizabeth Nealy, other local politicians & organisation representatives.

The next Banyule Youth Summit will be held in 2023.
