Senior School

From the Head of Senior School

On Friday I had the pleasure of spending some time with our Year Eleven aspiring leaders at their leadership workshop.  I invited my colleague Mr Ken Raven, Head of Junior School, to lead the workshop.  Mr Raven opened the day by giving the students a brief inspiring talk about leadership, focusing on the differences between more traditional, hierarchical leadership and modern, contemporary leadership. Using influence to make an impact was key to his discussion and Mr Raven encouraged the students to keep this in mind as they worked through the scheduled activities.

As I observed the students and the way they interacted cooperatively through the morning, I was delighted to see their creativity, maturity and the way they thoughtfully contributed to the tasks and discussions.  Our school is in very safe hands!  We have 28 nominations for 16 places and whether the students are offered a formal leadership role or not, I am confident that all participants will lead effectively as Year Twelve students.

At the conclusion of the session we were joined by the current Year Twelve leadership team who joined us for lunch and relaxed conversation.  I would like to thank Mr Ken Raven and Mrs Emma Franklin for their valuable time and support of this workshop.
