Introducing Miss Tracey Condrick

What is your role at Guyra Central School in 2019?

Teacher Librarian

Tell us a bit about your background?

I grew up in Tenterfield and completed my training at UNE. I have taught in a range of schools across the state but I was at Glen Innes Public School for the last 14 years. I have a strong interest not only in literacy but also in STEM and Multiple intelligences and 21st century learning.  My grandmother grew up on a property at Wongwibinda so she is excited for me to be teaching in Guyra.

When did you decide t become a teacher and why?

I grew up playing teacher with my younger sisters forced to be my students. My teacher in Year 5 and  Year 6 inspired me to actually become a teacher because she had such a joy for learning that she spread to all her students and now I am following my next goal of being a teacher librarian which I was also inspired to do by the librarians I had in school.

What interests do you pursue outside of the classroom?

I love reading, listening to music and singing along , cooking, trivial pursuit and crafts like crochet, paper tole and macramé. I enjoy sci fi and consider myself a whovian.
