Hi everyone,
Well, the end of the year has arrived extremely quickly. I wanted to thank you all for your good wishes as I take a break from SMDP and move to Far North Queensland for a change of scenery.
Over the holidays is a good time for children to follow up on topics of interest. I know for a fact that one thing I enjoy doing is researching topics or concepts I come across during my day just for personal interest or to learn something new.
Researching in itself is a real skill. You have to consider many things, such as using keywords in your search string, being a critical thinker, as well as being an avid reader. As my last entry in the newsletter, I thought I would add an article from the Digital Technologies Hub around the skill of researching. It's an activity mainly aimed for middle school children, but it couldn't hurt for younger or older students alike to have a go at it.
Again, thanks for all of your support over the past 11 years. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and may God's blessing go forward with you in 2020 and beyond.
