OSHC

What a great evening was last Tuesday for our first annual Wominjeka Picnic! Thank you to all the families and children who were able to attend our RAP launch and we hope that you all enjoyed the event.

A big thank you to Uncle Trevor for coming into our community and for performing the smoking ceremony for us. It was really beautiful and touching seeing all children singing along with Jack “We Won’t Cry” by Archie Roach and singing and dancing along with Uncle Trevor!

A special thank you goes to the CET (Community Event Team) for helping organizing our first event of this year and all the families who helped set up the Multi-Purpose Room with tables and who stayed back for packing and cleaning up the MPR.

It was wonderful to see our community come together and support one another.

From the Program:

Sewing Club: Making Scrunchies

The students learned why we sew forwards a few stitches then sew back to the beginning, then sew forwards again at the beginning of our seam. By starting our sewing this way it stops the stitching from coming undone.

Fashion Show: Children’s initiative

The children dressed up in the costumes and did a fashion show! It was so fun and everybody was expressing themselves confidently and everybody was respectful with one another. What a beautiful activity to promote diversity and let children play freely.

Magnets Maze

Some of the Juniors expressed their creativity using the magnets to create a maze! It is wonderful to witness how they connect with each other during their play time.

Cooking Club: more Choc Bliss Balls

Important notes:

PUBLIC HOLIDAY – 9th of March

A reminder that there is no BSC and ASC on Monday the 9h for Labour Day.

There will be no charges if you have a booking for this day.

MISSING VESTS

We still have a few missing vests and we have noticed that some children are leaving the program with the vest on. I know, the vests are so cool!

Can we please ask to return the vests as we have an unexpected increase in attendance and also to remind your children to take their vest off before going home? That would help us a lot!

Thank you.
