Science in 2018
The theme for Science week in 2018 is “Game Changers and Game Makers”. The theme focusses on scientists, engineers and mathematicians that have made great changes to the way we live. The inspiration for the theme comes from the 200th anniversary of the publication of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and also coincides with the 40th anniversary of the birth of the first baby through invitro-fertilisation.
In Science for 2018 we will be starting a new system for experimental log books. The intention is that these books are used for two full years (Years 7 and 8 will be one book and Years 9 and 10 will be a second book). To improve the survivability of these log books over the two years, they could be covered to protect them from dirt and moisture before being brought to school at the start of 2018. We are looking forward to an interesting and productive year of Science in 2018 and hope you have a safe and happy break.
