Principal's Report

Twilight School

Thank you to everyone who came along to our Twilight School on Wednesday.  It was absolutely fantastic to see so many parents coming and sharing a meal here at school then joining their children in class.  A wonderful community night.  We hosted many, many tours through the school to prospective families, some returning with their spouses later in the evening.  This event has once again shown itself to be a great opportunity for parents who, due to work commitments, are usually unable to come during the day to share in the their child's learning experiences. Special thanks to the parents who hosted our Sausage Sizzle.  We really appreciate your contribution.

 A GREAT NIGHT!

New Staff

We have a number of new faces at KPS this term.

Ms Mary Atmatsidis (Ms A) is replacing Mrs Wallace in the Art room for the next 5 weeks whilst Mrs Wallace is on leave.  Ms A is a highly experienced teacher with a strong art background and has already settled in well to our school. Welcome Mary.

Mr Ben Watson will be replacing Mr Wright from May 10th through to the end of Term 3.  Mr Wright will be travelling to America to lead a youth camp.  We look forward to Mr Wright returning to us with new skills and insights and stories of great adventures.  Mr Watson will be teaching PE on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  Welcome Ben.

Ms Wendy Turner is currently completing a teaching placement at another school.  Ms Deb Stewart is replacing Wendy over the next 5 weeks.  Thanks Deb, welcome.

Mrs Janine Batten will be taking leave at the end of next week.  Whilst her replacement is still to be confirmed, we wish Janine all the best for her travels.

Reduced Office Hours for May

We will be closing the office on Tuesdays from 1pm and all day Fridays for the month of May.  We will be unable to process payments or other enquiries during those times.  Please plan your visit to the office around these times.

Crossing at Liverpool Rd

I received the following message from our School Council President - Mrs Amy Davis.  Thanks for your great work Amy.

Mt Dandenong Road Crossing VicRoads Review Update

We have received and update on the outcome of the school crossing review for Mt Dandenong Rd and received the following response from Hon Jaala Pulford MP (Minister for Road Safety),  “ I am pleased to confirm that as a result of the review, VicRoads has allocated and additional five seconds of green walk signal time for the western Mt Dandenong Road crossing. This additional green walk time commenced operation on 20 February 2019 each week day between 8-9 am and 3-4:15 pm”.

We would like to thank everyone who made the effort to use the crossing on the day of the investigation,

Thanks
