Year 12 Breakfasts
This week we organised the first of many Year 12 Breakfasts, running from 8 am-8:25 am Friday mornings for all the Year 12 students.
After shopping for all the ingredients the day before (with many an argument regarding the best types of spreads), all the Year 12 leaders showed up early to prepare, cut fruit and organise toasters.
The breakfast was a huge success with lots of students turning up early to enjoy their meal before school!
If you're a Year 12 student, don't forget to come down to have a bite to eat or something to drink, before your classes every Friday morning, for the ultimate brain food!

VCE High Achievers Assembly
On Tuesday 20 February, our current VCE students attended a High Achievers Assembly to hear from the cohort of 2017 about what it takes to be a high achiever in VCE.
The students offered some insightful advice and discussed the importance of balancing study time.
It was great to celebrate our students’ achievement and to see so many of our 2017 Year 12 cohort.
Mindful Mornings at Steamworks
It’s been fantastic seeing so many of our VCE students participating in the mindfulness sessions at Steamworks in the mornings.
Don’t forget, mindful mornings are held every morning at Steamworks from 8.10 am - 8.20 am.
VCE Gratitude Board
Our gratitude blackboard is back! What are you grateful for today?
Make sure that you add it to the gratitude blackboard in the VCE corridor outside Room V4.
Reflecting on what we’re grateful for makes us more likely to focus on the positive aspects of life and appreciate the moments that we may sometimes take for granted.
VCE SACs
Students will not be granted SAC redemption unless they have a medical certificate or it is a school-approved absence. If there are extenuating circumstances please let us know and we will make a decision based on the VCAA guidelines.
Once a student has been approved for SAC redemption, they will be required to sit the SAC the next available time slot. Students will need to let the VCE coordinators know when they are rescheduling their SAC for.
The times for SACs are:
Monday
SAC Redemption 3.00 pm - 4.30 pm
Tuesday
During IPT Periods 5 and 6
Thursday
During IPT Periods 5 and 6
Friday
During IPT Period 6 (one period SAC only)
Improved Performance Time (IPT)
All VCE students have Study Periods together on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Periods 5 and 6 and Friday Period 6.
The aim is to run all SACs, examinations, level assemblies, guest speakers and other activities during this time to minimise class disruption.
If there are no relevant activities for your child during this time, they are free to go home to study. However, students are more than welcome to stay at school and study.
Absences on COMPASS
Any absences from school must be parent/guardian approved. You can do this through a signed note or you can approve your child’s absences via the Parent Approval Button on Compass.
You can also use Compass to view your student’s past absences.
