First Aid + Care Monkey

To All Parents

CAREMONKEY:

Please ensure for the rest of 2017 and the upcoming 2018 year that your son’s Care Monkey account has all the correct:

          (1)  Emergency contact details

          (2)  Mobile phone numbers

These contact numbers are for use by both first aid and teaching staff.  Staff  rely on the Care Monkey details being  correct so they can contact you in the event of illness or an emergency.

          (3)  Please check your son’s profile - Check  if you have uploaded a care plan for

asthma or anaphylaxis that it is current and legible on Care Monkey.

ANTIHISTAMINES:

We require parental/carer permission to administer an antihistamine to a student during school hours.  If you think your son may require this medication please tick the allergy (non-anaphylactic) box which will then give you access to add the antihistamine medication in the pop-0up section of his Care Monkey profile.

ASTHMA:

If your son has asthma we encourage your son to carry their asthma medication on their person at all times especially with the current climate and chance of Thunderstorm Asthma being a relevant cause of asthma/anaphylaxis symptoms.  An ambulance will be called for any student displaying breathing difficulties, who is not responding to emergency treatment.

The First Aid Department would like to take this opportunity to wish the St Bede’s College Students, Staff and Community a very Safe, Healthy and Happy Christmas.

May 2018 bring you Peace, Joy and Happiness.

Best Wishes

Janise Cathcart and Michelle Butler
