Debating

DAV Round 5

The final round of the 2018 DAV Competition was held at Brighton Grammar on 24/7/18 and was overall a successful night for the College Debating Squad. As we await the completion of the round state wide, there are high chances that St Bede’s will have a team in each section moving into the either the Play Off Rounds, or heading straight to State Finals.

Whilst this is an excellent achievement for the teams with prospects to advance, it would be remiss not to acknowledge the efforts of the squad as a whole over the season. In an increasingly busy climate of school life, debating has been executed with high skill and intellect, excellent team work, vibrant and productive planning sessions, quality collaboration and fun. Each and every boy has grown in confidence, capability and self- belief, and that is to be proud of. Congratulations debaters on your most credible efforts in 2018, and best wishes for continued success to the eventual finalists.
