VCAL Fundraiser

Community Fundraiser

In our VCAL class with Mr Forde we have been working very hard towards completing projects that will benefit our community.

Last week on Thursday 20th July,  ten students from our VCAL class went down to Fairley’s IGA to hand out the Customer Reward Tokens. Brooke McCluskey designed a 'Cure for Chloe' poster to use at the fundraiser that helped us explain why we were fundraising.

When customers purchase their groceries, they get the token scanned and Fairley’s IGA have agreed to donate a percentage of the sales to our fundraiser. We had a roster of students who were organised to go down and help towards this great cause.

Mr Forde is a friend of the Perry family (pictured) and he made us aware of Chloe’s circumstances. Chloe Perry has an aggressive brain tumour and she has been having extensive treatment for at least three years. She is now eight years old and her prognosis isn’t good.

Chloe’s family has had to make some big lifestyle changes such as selling their family home to provide financial support for medical expenses.

Fairley’s IGA gave us the opportunity to fundraise in their store at a Market Day. We handed out “Customer Reward Tokens” to the customers as they entered the store on Thursday. At the end of the day, Fairley’s IGA donated a percentage of all money spent to our cause to help Chloe’s family.

We raised $450.00 from IGA and with our donation tins we ended up raising $530 for the Perry family.

We would like to thank the three teachers who went to IGA, we are all very appreciative of this and would like to thank everyone involved!
