Byrne Shield Cricket

On Monday 6th February the Kildare Byrne Shield cricket team took on MDCC  at Duke of Kent Oval. It was a very even game with both teams playing some very good cricket. Kildare set a respectable total of 107 from their 20 overs. It came down to the last ball with MDCC needing a 6 to tie the game. Jackson Weidemann had other ideas and took a wicket with the last ball resulting in a Kildare win 107 - 101.

Tuesday saw us take on Wagga Wagga Christian College. We set Christian College a strong total of 140 to try to chase down. Some great batting from Blake Ryan (35) and Brad McMillan (28) helped us lay the foundation. Blake Ryan backed up his effort with the bat by taking 3/12  and was supported by Ben Masterson 3/9 which helped us bowl Christian College out for 54.
