Learning the Keyboard!

Learning the Keyboard with Malia D from Year 6:

My name is Malia D, I am in Year 6 and I am a member of Instrumental Music Program studying keyboard.  I have been a part of Instrumental Music for two years  and I have loved every moment of it.  I am in a group with one more person and we laugh and play a lot of songs in our lessons.  We have performed at lunch time concerts showcasing our talent and the talent of our teacher Alina.  We have learned how to read music and play songs and are currently learning how to play the Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven.

I really enjoy playing at lunchtime concerts because it gives me an opportunity to build my confidence in front of an audience.  My favourite thing to play is probably the pentatonic scale because it sounds amazing and is really fun to play.  I love the piano and I hope that one day I will play it in an orchestra.  Did you know that the piano was invented in 1704!

I keep coming back to the Instrumental Program because I love the way Alina teaches us.  She makes learning fun and active and I love her so much.  That is all I have for you.
